Direct-expansion coils
Direct-expansion coils differ from chilled water cooler coils in one important respect: performance depends not only on the considerations of air and coolant flow mentioned, but also on the point of balance achieved between the characteristic of the coil’s performance and the characteristic of the performance of the condensing set to which the coil is connected.
This aspect of the matter is dealt with in section 12.5.
